ABOUT US

At MemoryScapes.org, we are passionate about all the abilities one still has preserved even with memory deficits. We believe a diagnosis does not define a person nor should it limit one’s spared abilities. We want to offer resources for anyone struggling with memory deficits or their caregivers faithfully serving.

With over a decade in the senior living and skilled nursing space, we have firsthand experience working with people with dementia and memory needs. We have gained certifications in dementia care to better serve residents and train caregivers in the unique expressions of the disease along its stages. From this passion, memoryscapes.org was birthed to offer knowledge to a greater audience and serve the world for good.

With one in eight being diagnosed with dementia in the United States alone (and this number is increasing) there is a growing need for access to tools. We emphasize the preserved abilities of any individual with a memory-loss diagnosis.  Thank you for stopping by.. check out our resource page  and our blogs!

WHAT WE

OFFER

At Memoryscapes, we have a passion to see every person function at their highest ability and promote safety. Essentially, we want to contribute to the landscape of memory care. We have created visual aids to promote independence and door wraps that promote reduction in anxiety in exit-seeking or wandering reactions. Our products are supported by memory care research* and a Montessori approach to those with a cognitive impairment.

The risk of missing incidents is significant and “research shows that up to 60 percent of people with dementia will wander into the community at some point during the course of their disease “ (Rowe, et. al., 2011). Our beautiful, patented- material door wraps not only disguise exits but also showcase artwork. Find our door wraps here

Our visual aid stickers are also made from the same certified- green, patented material as our door wraps. These pictures promote functional independence and wayfinding for people with cognitive impairment or decline. They are custom designed with specific colors in mind that have been known to help those living with dementia. They currently come in four languages : English, Spanish, Tagalog, and Mandarin.
